Don’t date an Indigenous woman if you can’t admire & respect her strength & attitude. That attitude comes from a society & community that hasn’t always valued the treatment of her body & soul in its space. That means her blood memory has survived a few hundred years of genocide & colonial abuse. Her matriarchs have moved through intergenerational trauma like Queens. You won’t be able to take away her beauty & strength, so don’t waste her time if you’re not ready for the power of her blood memory…

Tyra Cox grew up in the prairies, and lives with northern trap line (Dene) and Council of Three Fires (Anishinawbek) blood memory. She is a young nomadic (with purpose), who is about that university education and is influenced by the beauty of Indigenous culture. Tyra is Indigenous, career-oriented, a coach and recently became engaged to a Blackfoot-Cree who quickly found out that dating an Indigenous woman meant rekindling a healthy home fire with a love that was as unique as the Nations they derive from and belong to.
